Senior
Consultant in 80-person OR Group, the largest in Europe, latterly focussing
on delivery to Utilities Sector.
- Each
full year generated client fees between 220 & 290% of salary + benefits.
- Modeled
multi £m UK Electricity Settlements ISRA IT system on Excel VBA platform.
- BPR
exercise for Company’s financial reporting functions, including Process
Performance Measurements.
- Provided
a Disputes Support Service for the new 1998 Electricity Suppliers.
- Analysed
a survey of sampled international companies, assessing Y2K readiness
and impact on GDP.
- Involved
in two Systems integration projects, on project compliance and sales
forecasts.

new Estimated Accounts methodology and ‘unbilled’ gas calculator in
the new British Gas.

British Gas East Midlands
region:
Member
of 6-person OR Team, providing an internal OR and Statistics Consultancy
Service to the region.
- Estimated
Accounts regional expert, responsible for maintaining, improving and
delivering systems to provide the best possible estimated accounts for
regional customers.
- Seconded
as planning resource to new Property Business Unit of British Gas, including
creating and maintaining Building Costs Models and Plans of future Building
works.
- Identified
and rectified a major gas Send Out measurement error existing in the
regional pipelines.

British Gas South Eastern
region:
Member
of 8-person Team, providing an internal OR and Statistics Consultancy
Service to the region.
- Modeled
the maximum and minimum gas pressures in the network (using Fortran),
to safely improve the storage capability within the Gas network.
Full implementation was estimated to save £1m per annum.
- Analysed
data for location of new Transport Workshop, resulting in savings of
£100,000 per annum.
- Developed
3 Expert Systems prototype models, for emergency procedures, transport
database and monitoring expenditure.

IV. CIVIL SERVICE
Member
of 4-person team, providing internal OR/Statistics Consultancy to the
Property Services Agency.
- Created
financial models to report and control Buildings/other expenditures.
- Developed
methodology to determine optimum number of tenders to request for major
procurement items.
- Recommended
re-organisation of Stationery Store, including an improved Stock Control
system.
