Deliver key London transportation forecasts for the 2001 Mayor’s
Transport Strategy. GEL was brought in as a mathematical
consultancy to work on the London Transportation Studies (LTS) model, mainly via:
- Providing
an effective personal and technical bridge between key external Planning
data, and inputs into the LTS model.
- Processing
the Planning and other data through the Planning and Car Ownership modules,
to produce London Zonal Trip Ends statistics, then through a further
sub module to re-process the data ready for the LTS Network modules
to run effectively.
- Becoming
familiar with London Wards/Boroughs and South Eastern Planning issues
and future demographic, employment, household and car ownership forecasts.
- Re-familiarisation
with Car Ownership and Logit models, and with London Transportation
issues.
- Liaison
with external Clients and Consultants to determine data requirements
and forecasts.
- Performing
Ad Hoc data processing exercises to quickly convert “messy” Ward level
data into the required formats for the LTS model.
- Staff
Training.
