I. Business Process Re-engineering of
a large Company's Financial Reporting and Forecasting Procedures.
- One of a team to significantly improve the financial reporting and
forecasting processes and procedures of an expanding large Company,
including being involved in the various process re-engineering aspects
of the project, including leading some team discussions and facilitation
sessions.
- Principal work was the introduction of Process Performance Measurements
(PPMs) around the identified bottleneck and key critical processes.
This included:
- The concept of a "PPM Champion" who would oversee an
already working automatic "press button" routine to "collect"
all PPMs and communicate them to the relevant managers.
- A report highlighting how such measures should be introduced into
the Company at large, bearing in mind the then "lack of such
measures" Company culture (including how to introduce the concepts
of "continuous improvement" and the need for "early
warning signs of process instability"), and how such a PPMs
culture should lead naturally onto such wider quality concepts as
"Balanced Scorecards" etc being naturally accepted within
the Company.
- Other work included the major re-modeling of the then Company Accounting
P&L spreadsheets.

II. Y2K affect on European Countries and
USA's GDP
- One of a team of 6 consultants analysing a survey of sampled organisations
throughout Europe and the USA, to ascertain the organisations' expected
spend on the Y2K problem and their progress made to date.
- All
responses were statistically analysed then fed into a complex model,
which indicated the likely Y2K effect on each country's GDP, according
to each country’s forecast readiness to be Y2K compliant.
- Results were presented to the international news media.
- Involved the coding and running of database, spreadsheet, statistics,
programming and communication packages.

III. Measurement of Company’s Y2K Readiness
This involved incorporating all Users, held on various separate data sources,
into a database, and automatically e-mailing a spreadsheet questionnaire
to each User . Then automatically inputting all User responses onto
a spreadsheet, which automatically graded each User as being Green/Amber
or Gold Y2K compliant.

IV. Systems Integration
Major Revision of an integrated spreadsheet/database/word processing system,
to routinely plot 12 monthly trends of the Company’s Sales pipeline across
various Company Divisions.
