I.  Electricity Pool - Materiality Calculator

  • Calculations of the UK Electricity Suppliers Deemed Take Bills, simulating the highly complex mathematical rules underpinning the Electricity Settlements ISRA System, so that

1)     The materiality effects of changed Data Aggregator (“meter readings consolidators”) inputs can quickly be calculated prior to deciding whether very expensive system reruns should be authorised.

2)     Various “what-if” scenarios can be examined, which also would otherwise be prohibitively expensive. 

  • The Materiality Calculator was demonstrated to be accurate to within 1p in £3m of reported Oracle written system results.

II.  British Gas selling Electricity

  • Part of a Cap Gemini/Andersens/Centrica team that were tasked to introduce the necessary systems for Centrica’s entrance to the UK Electricity market, focussing on the creation of optimal Electricity Estimation Routines.

III.  UK Regional Electricity Company – New Electricity Trading Arrangements

  • Short Term Demand Forecasting – modeling effect of Bank and other holidays into the overall daily and half hourly demand forecasts.  Savings of entire project estimated at £20m p.a.
